NKBL offers free training to practitioners who want to develop primary prevention sessions with young people. Practitioners can be from a range of disciplines such as police, youth workers, teachers and social workers.
“Very well put together course. Interesting and interactive.”
The training covers our approach to prevention including the 4 Rs; reassurance, risks and consequences, resilience and responsibility.
“Now more confident at delivering this course to young people.”
Participants are given input on the context of knife carrying in Scotland, as well as practical advice and support to facilitate the activities in our Sharp Solutions toolkit. At the end of the session, participants receive a resource pack, and will confidently be able to deliver knife carrying prevention sessions to young people.
“Excellent session – learned lots!”
Although sessions are free, one of our expectations is that you stay in touch and tell us how you got on in your area. We’d love to know what reach we’ve had and hear about some interesting examples of practice. Perhaps we could even showcase your area!
